Planning - Task N - Props List

We aren't going to use many props however we are going to use some musical instruments to make it look like we are playing them in the video. We will be using two guitars, a microphone and a drum set. We used these in the shots that we were performing in and we managed to borrow them off of a friend of mine who is in a band.

Planning - Task M - Camera Movement Practice Shots

To get used to the feel of the camera during our first filming session we decided to have a play around, however we got used to the camera very quickly and we ended up using near enough no footage from this first session. We were then used to the camera after the first session and our shots began to get much better with time.

Planning - Task L - Risk Assessment

Risk
Risk Rating (out of 10)
How to prevent accident
What I would do if an accident does happen
Trip hazards
5
Check any potential scenes before shooting and removing the trip hazard or warning actors about them.
Depending on how serious the injury is after falling but a small cut would just need cleaning.
Dropping Camera
4
Try to use tripods wherever possible and if not keep a firm grip on the camera
The cameras are quite heavy so they could do some damage to someones toe, so they would may have to rest it.
Falling Down a Hill
7
Be careful when filming near the top of the hill and always watch where you are stepping.
Injuries will be different depending on how bad the fall, but i would take action relating to severity of injury.
Cutting yourself
6
There may be sharp objects such as glass about. You have to be careful around these areas and just avoid using these areas.
Depending on how deep the cut, but for a small cut they may need it cleaning and putting a plaster on.

Some risks can depend on how lucky you are and the outcome is different to everyone. You could trip over and be fine although you could also land awkwardly and twist your knee or ankle which would result in a much more severe injury. During our filming we are going to be very careful with all the equipment anyway because it is very expensive and costly to replace.

Planning - Task K - Schedule

Date Location Cast needed Timing
Tuesday 29th September  Toton Sidings Harry Smith, Chris Monk 1hr
Wednesday 30th September Attenborough Nature Reserve  Harry Smith, Chris Monk 1hr
Saturday 3rd October Music Shed Harry Smith, Chris Monk, Freddie Hunter, Harry Lowe, Matt Newbold 1hr 30min
Sunday 4th October Outside My House Harry Smith, Chris Monk 30min

We are going to try and stick to this schedule, obviously cast members may pull out on certain days which will effect recording and we may have to wait for them if we cannot get in a replacement. Also with a lot of recording being outside the weather may effect our recording with rainy weather or sunny weather not being what we are looking for. If all goes well then we should be able to record and if not on days where it is just me and Chris it will be easy to re-arrange because we are both quite flexible.

Planning - Task J - Location Recce Shots

These are some of the locations that we used and some that we didn't end up using. A lot of the time we would start walking to one location and then would discover somewhere and start filming on an impulse which is how a lot of our footage went down and we also had lots of it. You can see the two studios we used, the first wasn't big enough to move around and get a variety of angles so we had to re-film to try and get some extra marks.

Planning - Task I - Costume Shots

We tried to use new and trendy costumes in our video and we tried to get all of our actors to dress to that similar to those in U2 in some of the footage our guitarists has a hat similar to one "the edge" wears. We tried to get hold of some sunglasses similar to what Bono wears and some leather jackets however we couldn't get hold of any and they would have looked more like Bono.

Planning - Task H - Storyboard

We are going to try and stick to this storyboard when filming, but we are going to record all the verses for the song in each location and then we can chop and change between them when we get to the editing stage. So when we edit the order may change and their will probably appear to be more shots because we will change between them rather than have one really long shot.

Planning - Task G - Magazine Ad Draft

The picture taken is kind of similar to what I want our ancillary task to look like, however I want the background to be more gloomier so perhaps will be taken on a overcast day. I may also add a black and white effect to try and gain a more moody scene in the picture. Also the edited words over the top of the picture colour is still undecided and will probably have a play around with different colours over the top of a black and white image and a colour one. Also the setting I would like as the background of my own picture will be underneath and much more vast. The picture will most likely be taken on top of a hill with a lot of scenery in the background. We will use some audience feedback to see which image is preferred the black and white or the colour version.
