Third Draft - Music video

In this draft we tried to bring down shot length and also added in a lot more footage that had more of a variety in shot size and angle. This was because a lot the feedback we were getting back was that a lot of the shots looked very similar just that they were in different locations. So we added more locations and a lot more diverse shots.

Construction - Filming Day Three

We decided that we wanted more and better footage for the first half of our film with just the solo actor in the day whilst it was still light and then in the evening we shot in the studio because thats when all of our actors were free we actually had two drop outs of our filming last minute so i had to rope in some other actors. They still did the job that was needed but they didn't have the same credentials because one of my dropouts was from the media department so they would have been good for our music video.

Second Draft - Music Video

This is our second draft and we felt that we had to make some massive improvements to our first draft because we didn't realise that each shot needed to be a lot shorter than they were. We didn't re-film for this draft however we did try to improve the editing. For me I was getting used to the editing software on the mac that we were using because it was different software.

Construction - Editing

For my editing we used iMovie because at home I had a mac and we also had a Mac laptop so we decided it would be easier to use the apple products and we both preferred using them to the Windows ones at college. We were both comfortable editing however we did find that there wasn't a huge range of different transitions available and some of them felt like they were irrelevant to the context and didn't flow with the rest of the editing or the music.

Construction - Filming Day Two

We re-shot some of  the footage from day one filming on Toton Sidings and then we also went to a Nature Reserve however we didn't think it through properly and went on a Friday afternoon and it was quite busy so we couldn't shoot in a lot of places but we did find  a great place and we also managed to get a lot of pictures and scenery shots that we hope will help us when we get to the editing stage if we need to fill in a few gaps and help us when trying to lip sync.

Construction - Filming Day Two

We re-shot some of  the footage from day one filming on Toton Sidings and then we also went to a Nature Reserve however we didn't think it through properly because it was very busy on a Friday afternoon and we struggled finding places to film because there were a lot of people, however we did find a great spot and got a lot of shots of nature and pictures for our digipak and magazine ad.

Construction - Magazine Ad

I used Photoshop to edit the photo and then also added plenty of social media and music related services because after viewing different magazine ads they all implemented some form of social media support or music. To keep continuity flowing from video to digipaks I decided to edit it into black and white. From what people have said about my picture they really like that he is in focus and then the background it then out of focus and they think it has a great effect.

Construction - Filming Day One

The first time we were filming we got around 3-4 minutes of footage for the first half of our production. We will just get some footage down to start editing our first draft and then we can see what the footage looks like for future reference and then we will most likely need to re-shoot unless the footage is great. We have already planned a few more filming sessions one in my friends "studio" so that we can get our actors to hold instruments, he has a microphone, drums and two guitars which is perfect for us. We went to Toton Sidings which is just a field area around the back of our college  which is was relatively quiet however there were a few dog walkers that disturbed our filming on some occasions.
